Activity set-up/instructions or description of technique:
We have a program at our school called Accelerated Reader. Students read a book at their reading level. When they are done reading the book, they take a 10 question multiple choice comprehension test on the computer. Each book is assigned a certain amount of points, depending on the difficulty of the book. In order to earn points, the students must get at least 7 out of 10. The students use their points to buy items off of a point cart. Some examples are pencils, pens, books, highlighters etc.
