Appropriate grades or age groups:
Preschool and Younger
Elementary School
Middle School
High School & Beyond

Estimated time to complete activity or implement technique:
Set aside 1-1 1/2 hours a couple times per month.

Materials needed (if applicable):
*Favorite reading materials. These can be books, magazines, reference materials, etc. *Comfortable place to read, i.e., sofas, sleeping bags on the floor, beanbags, big pillows, etc.

Activity set-up/instructions or description of technique:
Reminder of this LEISURE READING activity. D.E.A.R. Time - DROP EVERYTHING AND READ TIME.

Other suggestions or comments:
Leisure reading is often neglected because everyone is caught up in the routine academic requirements of learning. This is a much needed activity which nurtures the continued "love of reading" by emphasizing the IMPORTANCE OF ALL READING.
