Books about places

Activity set-up/instructions or description of technique:
Choose books that mention specific locations (e.g. the cave in Tom Sawyer; Williamsburg, VA; an apple farm) then plan to visit the location either exact or similar. For every place read about, the family plans a trip around the book.

Other suggestions or comments:
This encourages reading, geography, spacial awareness, cultural diversity as well as just enhances and reinforces the child's life experiences. It promotes family activities and add creativeness to the kinds of activities your family does.
