Activity set-up/instructions or description of technique:
To encourage my kids to read I first bought them all flashlights to use "in case they wake up at night." Then I had several discussions with my husband, sister, friends (with the kids in hearing range) about how much fun it used to be to read under to covers at night, fooling my mom. Now my kids happily fool me while I keep the batteries fresh in their flashlights and piles of books available in their rooms.
