Activity set-up/instructions or description of technique:
I have susbcribed to many magazines over the years for myself and now that my children are getting older I have susbcribed to a magazine for each of them to encourage them to read. My older daughter, who wants to be a vet, gets a subscription to "Zoo Books" and my younger daughter gets "Highlights". I find my kids are more eager to read when the material is geared to their own interests and they look forward to receiving magazines in the mail monthly just like mom. If you don't want to commit to subscribing for a year, just pick up copies of mags that suit their interests. In the long run however, I find subscribing yearly is more economical.
