Three or four story books; may use old favorites or new ones from the library....not too long.

Place the books into the back of your car before you all load up to go to the park.

Other suggestions or comments:
When it is time to leave, just announce Story Time! The children scamper off to your car willingly and the first one there gets to pick the first story. I actually open up my tailgate and let them sit up in there sometimes with a snack. I never have trouble getting my children to leave the park when I am ready, and often have a few little pals who want to get in on the action! My girlfriends are amazed at how well this works!
