Appropriate grades or age groups:
Preschool and Younger
Elementary School
Middle School

Estimated time to complete activity or implement technique:
5-10 minutes

Materials needed (if applicable):
One page from a book

Activity set-up/instructions or description of technique:
Whenever packing the day's lunch box, I include just ONE paragraph or page from a book that he/she finds interesting. Do this by photo copying one page at a time and then cutting apart or including whole page. Each day, your child will want to know "what happens next" and will be anxious not only for their lunch and to continue the adventure of reading but to also see you've sent a message of caring enough to think of them this way.
