Estimated time to complete recipe:
1 - 2 Minutes

Description of lunch box recipe:
One of my kids' favorite lunch box treats is an old favorite of mine. We use hard salami or balogna and low fat or flavored cream cheese.

Directions:
Take one slice of lunch meat and spread cream cheese on one side, then just roll it up to complete it. I send 2 -3 of these in their lunches. It's a great source of protein for building those young muscles!

Other suggestions and comments:
Use whipped cream cheese and add some fruit or herbs to it for some variety (i.e. chives, chevril, oregano, mandrin oranges, pears or crushed pineapple). Mix well into the cream cheese for a delightful spread, just make sure to drain the fruit thouroughly. Even my picky eaters love these roll ups, I'm sure yours will, too! (I recommend using one extra ingredient at a time, i.e. cream cheese and chives, or cream cheese and fruit, keep it simple for young pallets.)
