Appropriate age groups:
Preschool and Younger
Elementary School
Middle School
High School & Beyond

Description of celebration or activity:
Whether a child is moving on to kindergarten or graduating from high school, breaking bread with parents and teachers at a table with flowers and other delicate touches signifies "this is special! Well done!"

Setting up or preparing for this celebration or activity:
Have a committee of many hands and minds to coordinate foods, table decorations and paper goods/utensils, perhaps a little music. Simple but Stylish is probably best.

Other suggestions & comments:
If there are Speeches, may they be blessedly Brief! A quick slideshow set to music might be fun. My daughter says that the kids in her 6th grade class are being asked to bring in their kindergarten photos for display next to their 6th grade "mug shots". Encourage parents and students to bring their cameras. Try to provide ample time that teachers can be in these photographs, too! Especially for elementary school kids; yearbooks seem to have gone out of style in this age group, and unless you are a Bring the Camera type of person, you can find yourself with little left to commemorate these special days.
