Description of celebration or activity:
End the school year on a grateful note. Show your appreciation by sending your child's teacher a thank you note or buying a gift for the classroom.

Don't underestimate the power of a thank you note. Give your teacher a pat on the back for a job well done! And be specific such as, "Thanks for your support in getting Janet the remedial help she needed to get those grades up. You've really made a difference in our lives."

Computer software and books are great additions to any classroom. A group of families can pool their resources to buy a set of books or a series of software titles. Or just pick up a gift certificate from your local bookstore or Amazon.com.

School supplies are another great gift. A class can never have too many supplies. A little bit of money can go a long way towards helping to buy a year's worth of pencils or reams of paper for the computer and copy machines.

Is your child's school planning any field days or school trips for the next school year? Donate funds for class trips. This can be a great boon to a child whose family would otherwise not be able to pay for his/her trip.

Giving to your child's education is a wonderful gift for everyone!
