Description of celebration or activity:
Start the summer off right by organizing an all-school clean up the park day. It's great for the kids, it's great for the town and everyone will benefit from having a clean place to play all summer long.
Start by contacting someone at your town hall to help you organize the event and determining which park needs to be cleaned up the most. Contact your local dump or sanitary waste organization and ask if they can provide trash receptacles, pick-up and litter sticks. Solicit local food merchants for fun food items like hot dogs, soda and ice cream.
Talk to your principal and plan "the park clean up day" to coincide with the last day of school. After a couple of hours of clean up in the morning, students can spend the afternoon playing in their new clean park.
