Description of stress-relief technique for busy parents:
I don't know about you, but I love my home, and I love being at home. And that's a good thing because I'm there all the time as a work-at-home mom. So now, once in a while, my husband takes the kids out all day on Saturday, just so I can spend the day alone at home. It's just great.
I try to stick to not doing any chores when I'm home alone, although I usually do take care of some of them. It's almost a luxury to clean a room at my own pace and not have to worry about naps or other schedules. But I try to stick to doing things that are good for my soul, like lighting candles and listening to my favorite music. Sometimes I'll take a long, hot bubble bath or read a good book. Sometimes I like to just sit in my favorite chair and listen to the quiet.
It's all about taking care of yourself, your spirit and your soul. Spending time like this enables me to provide patience, compassion and love back to my family.
