Description of Easter celebration or activity:
Each year on Easter eve, we go out to the back garden and plant a handful of jelly beans. It's always the first planting of the spring, so the kids are so happy to dig in the dirt! Then we just forget about them as we prepare for all the easter fun the next day. In the morning, however, on the way to the car for church, someone always says, "Hey, what about our jelly beans!?" We all quickly run around to see them and find that a miraculous crop of lollipops has sprouted!

Setting up and preparing for this celebration or activity:
Just help the kids with their silly planting and, of course, sneak out while they're asleep and stick the lollipops in the dirt for them to see the next morning!

Other suggestions or comments:
It's just a nonsense fun thing to do, but it has become such an eagerly anticipated part of our family's traditions for Easter. Our oldest are teenagers and if we ever neglected this tradition, I think they would be very dissappointd. The younger ones are just thrilled by it all.
