My mother's parents had an enormous wall display of photos, (about the size of most office desktop surfaces), and it was the catalyst for conversation at most family gatherings. It featured very old family photos at the top row, followed by their wedding photo, then baby pictures and youth pictures of their children, graduation/senior photos, their children's wedding photos, group pictures of grandchildren, and I think they eventually needed another frame to add the great-grandchildren. The framework was walnut, and the glass panels could slide open to change/add pictures. It wasn't fancy inside; some of the pictures were attached with white thumbtacks! But they were right up there for viewing, daily, and it's precisely the kind of thing I want myself "someday". It's definitely a custom carpentry type of job, and that's not in Mommabear's bag o' tricks. Yet sometimes I guess ya gotta make Someday happen, and one day I will... Anyway, the location was a hallway about the center of the farmhouse, far enough away from the windows to avoid too much sunlight. As for the vintage photos, those offer yet another "opportunity" for kids to have re$toration$ and wall portraits made.
