I have always thought that spending long hours in front of a TV is a waste of time.
So my kids and husband showed their support by getting me a TV monitor for Mother's Day. It is a box that attaches to the power cord of your TV. With secret codes, each family member is limited to a certain amount of TV time per week. When the time is used up, the TV goes off.

The box really works - the main gift was that they showed that they were supportive of my "less TV" values.

We've had the box on the TV for 6 years now, and it is still working to keep my family from becoming couch potatoes!
