Describe the best gift you (as a mom) ever received or gave to your mother:
I gave my mother a recipe book in which I put all the recipes that had been handed down in our family. There were recipes that were handed down to her and she handed down to me and my sisters and other family members. I never knew we had so many family recipes until I started putting the recipes I got from all the family members in the book. They were recipes each family member made of their own .

What made this gift extra-special?
My mom had tears in her eyes as there were recipes from my great gandparents and her mother in there. Those people are gone but not forgotten and now the recipe book keeps a living connection to them and to our grandchildren and great grandchildren and so fourth.
