Describe the best gift you (as a mom) ever received or gave to your mother:
On November 2, 1981, my beautiful second son, Eric, was born. The following January my mother-in-law, Ann, learned she had terminal lung cancer. The radiation treatments and chemotherapy provided no hope. When Mother's Day approached, I could hardly stand the crushing pain, knowing our time with Ann was so precious. I gathered my two sons, and with a heavy heart set out for our local mall. It was almost as though I had been led by some invisable force, for in the window of one of the mall's jewelry stores was displayed the most beautiful heart shaped gold locket with "Love Grandma" inscribed on the face. Without hesitation I purchased the locket and inserted the pictures of both my sons. On Mother's Day I presented the locket to my mother-in-law. Ann immediately put on the necklace, and opened the locket revealing her two sweet grandchildren. Tears of joy flowed. Ann wore the locket until her death a month later. The locket is now a treasured family heirloom.
