Skill set addressed:
Social (Interpersonal)
Personal (Intrapersonal)

Materials needed (if applicable):
A great costume box, full of many different kinds of clothing, hats, shoes, accessories

Flashlights, lamps

Large pieces of fabric, cardboard, rug remnants, etc.

A source of music--cassette player, CD player, stereo system, piano, etc.

Project instructions or description of technique:
Encourage your children to put together plays and other dramatic or musical productions for performance for each other, their family and friends, etc. Having a great costume box around was all my kids needed for the seed to be planted--their imaginations soared with ideas from there and they adored putting together productions for the family or family friends to watch. Adding flashlights, fabric and rug scraps for props, music, makes for a complete production that can take them hours or minutes to complete, and create a lifetime of sweet memories for everyone.

Other suggestions or comments:
I feel this activity during their young years helped my children to overcome shyness.
