Activity instructions or description of technique:
If your child is very expressive with his or her body and loves to put on plays for you and your family, encourage these special talents by enrolling him or her in a drama class! Here's how:

1. Check out local theater groups in your town.

2. See what kinds of classes there are for young children.

3. Attend a few classes to observe the instructor? method of instruction.

4. It is very important that your child feel comfortable with the instructor's specific teaching style.

5. The more comfortable your child feels, the more he or she will be able to "let go" in class.

6. Find a class that helps your child explore concepts such as being perfectly still like a tree or rock, getting down on their belly to be a snake, becoming the water and moving through the air like liquid.

7. Your child will enhance his or her own awareness of how to use their body as a form of communication.

8. Drama classes will develop your kids' discipline skills and physical control of thier bodies. These skills directly affect the ability to express emotions, thoughts and ideas.
