Appropriate grades or age groups:

Middle School
High School & Beyond

Estimated time to complete activity or implement technique:
One or two hours per week.

Activity instructions or description of technique:
Have your child join a movement or dance class where he or she can continue to advance the learning process of how the body can be used as a form of expression.

1. If your child loves to dance and act out little shows for you, suggest that he or she might want to take a class.

2. Choose a movement class that fits your child? personality and style. For example, if your child is focused and disciplined, ballet might be a good choice. If your child is the more energetic type, gymnastics might be more appropriate.

3. There are so many choices when it comes to movement classes -- if you're not sure which one to join, you could visit some classes and have your child take a trial class to see if he or she likes it.

4. Movement classes are great fun, good exercise and help your child to become more aware of their physical bodies and their physical connections to the world around them.
