Project instructions or description of technique:
Dominoes is a great game for the entire family that also provides the perfect opportunity to develop your child's recognition of patterns.

1. Take out a set of dominoes and lay them face down, so no one can see the dot patterns.

2. Have each person select seven dominoes.

3. Each player should set their dominoes facing them so that other players can't see their dot patterns.

4. Take turns rolling the dice to see who goes first. The person with the highest roll starts by placing one domino down on the table (face up).

5. Each person must match one of their domino patterns to a domino piece that has already been placed on the table.

6. Players without a match must pick from the pool of unused dominoes until they can match an end domino on the table.

7. The object is to be the first person without any dominoes left.

8. For each win, players score one point to a tally sheet.

9. My family usually plays until someone scores ten points. It's up to you how long you'd like to play.

10. This game can become quite sophisticated. Your child will learn to spend time thinking about who has what domino.

11. This takes practice and a study of all the pieces on the table -- strengthening your kids' logical reasoning skills and memory skills!
