Description of technique:
Your child feels that they are ready to be dropped off at the local skating rink, what do you do?

It is important for your child to feel that you trust him or her and will allow them to begin this new stage of growing. Consider going to the rink and checking the place out. Observe the kids at the rink. Are they having fun just ?nging out?or are they really skating? If the place doesn? suit your needs, find another place that does. Go with your child once to observe how he or she interacts with friends. If you feel comfortable, next time can be a drop off. Your child will feel good about this new freedom. Suggest every once in a while to have a family skate-a-thon and go to the rink together.
