1. Begin by inspiring yourself (as a parent) by enjoying good television and film documentation about historical time periods and varieties of cultures from around the world. Then expose your child to a wealth of classical art forms!

2. Encourage your child to ask questions about who was famous in music, art, dance and theater during various time periods in history.

3. Lead your child to reference books and web-sites that will enhance their knowledge on the subject.

4. Find local exhibitions and take your child to see art, live music, dance and theater.

5. Bring your child to historical sites.

6. Is there interesting architecture in your town to view? Visit these sites with your child and ask them what they think.

7. Plan your next vacation so that you can visit a historical site and your child can learn ?nds on?how and why certain historical events took place.

8. Continue to have discussions about your findings.

9. Keep the dialogue open and encourage your child to keep asking questions and to keep seeking answers on her own!
