Description of technique for teaching kids values:
Why learn the hard way when you can learn from the lives and experiences of others? There are many famous people who have experienced extremely difficult and painful situations and have managed to come through them with dignity and grace. How did they do it? Find out by reading their stories with your children.

People like Anne Frank, Malcolm X, Christopher Reeves, and Bill Cosby have inspired us through their experiences and undying spirits. Check out the autobiography and biography sections of your local library. After you read these amazing stories, work with your child to create a cheat sheet or flow chart depicting their names, the obstacles or injustices they had to overcome, and how they choose to deal with them. It will give you added inspiration the next time you face a difficult situation.
