Description of technique for teaching kids values:
As a parent, seek justice, show courage, get involved -- and involve your kids too. Don't just stand there as life passes you by, be a proactive participant. Get involved in your school and local government and work to improve current conditions, fight to change unfair laws, and seek equality and tolerance for all people in your community.

You can start by campaigning for someone who's running for office in your school or start your own campaign to run for president yourself! Or call your local campaign headquarters and support someone who is running in your city or state. Maybe you can pass out literature or answer phones. Another great idea is to help people in your community register to vote. You can volunteer to make phone calls, work at the polling place during elections, or work to provide a voter transportation service for seniors and people with special needs.

Other comments or suggestions:
While teaching by example is key, working for and with the community together with your child will instill strong values and create a unique bond between the two of you.
