Description of technique for teaching kids values:
As the saying goes, "the more you give, the more you will receive". Teach your children to give of themselves at home and within the community.

At home you can encourage your children to pick up after each other even if they weren't responsible for making the mess (ie. making each other's bed and picking up clothes and toys). And outside of the home, there are lots of volunteer activities you can do as a family. Clean out your closets and give your old coats to the homeless, bring canned goods to the local food pantry, visit senior citizens in a nursing home, become a driver for Meals on Wheels, help build a house for Habitat for Humanity. It's great to give during the holiday season but keep in mind that people need help all year long. Look for volunteer activities throughout the year.
