Description of technique for teaching kids values:
Your connections to other people is what truly gives life meaning. Make it part of your daily routine to look for opportunities to perform random acts of kindness for people you know and love and for the people you haven't yet met.
When you're out shopping at the grocery store for example, see how many doors you can open for others, especially for senior citizens or people with extra needs (or lots of kids!). If you've been waiting in the deli line for quite a while, remember to say please, thank you and have a great day. If there is a hold-up for a price check in the check-out line right in front of you, use this time to give your kids a hug, ask them about their day or just take a moment to stand quietly for yourself. Strike up a conversation with the store clerks, ask them if it's been this busy all day and compliment them for serving you well. Smile at everyone you see.
