1) Inspired by your nature trip, research what flowers, fruits and vegetables grown in your back yard will attract the creatures that you love, e.g., butterflies, bees, hummingbirds.

2) Visit your local garden shop for expertise as well.

3) Bring your selected plants home.

4) Plant your plants throughout your backyard, inviting your guests.

5) Spend months enjoying your observations, what happens at different times of the day?

6) Make drawings and take notes on what you see -- are there patterns developing?
