Appropriate grades or age groups:
Seventh grade and up.

Estimated time to complete this project:
One month.

Materials:
computer for online testing
logbook and pencil

Instructions:
1) Research Carl Jung and his theory of the four basic personality types. Take the online test @ www.keirsey.com. Take a color test @ www.haleonline.com. Take the Personality Color test @ www.allhealth.com. There are many other tests that you can research online, at the library or by purchasing specific personality types books. These references will introduce you to this type of psychology. You will need to know this language to present your results.

2) If you are interested in helping your friends find colleges or jobs that would compliment their personality types, you might want to find the book Please Understand Me Character and Personality Types by David Keirsey and Marilyn Bates.

3) After taking a series of tests yourself, you will need to decide how you will administer the test to others.

4) It might be most convenient to give the test to your friends and family so that you can use your home computer.

5) The results are done automatically this way, so all you would need to do is record the personality type found.

6) With this information you can see if your friends have similar or different personality traits. What about family members? Record results and come up with some conclusions on what makes a person unique. Why do people get along? Do family members necessarily think and act the same way?

7) If you'd like to match up personality types with the kind of work they would be good at, you can take these results and run Keirsey tests on them.

8) For the science fair, it would be good to be able to give strangers the test and assess observations about them based on your results (you would need your computer for quick processing of results). Good luck!
