2 Star Summer Camp Rating

Gender and Age Group:
Girls and Boys: 8 to 12 and teens 13 to 18.

Programs and Activities Offered:
Weight loss camps feature a wide range of athletic activities and should also include nutritional guidance. Below are just some of the athletic programs that most camps have to offer. Individual camp activities will vary.

Sports: Baseball, Basketball, Soccer, Volleyball, Kickball
Individual Sports: Tennis, Racquetball, Dance
Water Sports: Lap swimming, Water Basketball, Water Aerobics
A Fitness Center: Nautilus and Universal Equipment, Treadmills, Stair Masters, Aerobic and Step Classes, Saunas and Steam Rooms

Special Camp Features:
A good weight loss camp will feature not only a variety of exercise programs but will educate campers in good nutrition. The camp's focus should be on how to teach children to live healthy, active lifestyles and how to feel good about themselves. The menus should be customizable, well-balanced, and nutritionally sound. Look for a camp with Registered Nurses and Registered Dietitians.

Duration of Program and Rates:
Camp dates and rates will vary but most weight loss camps offer a variety of camp dates ranging from one-week to six-week programs ranging from $1,000 to $6,000.
