4 Star Strategy Rating

Age group(s) for which this strategy is helpful:
Elementary School

Instructions for using this strategy:
Student reads to younger children. A younger audience can be less intimidating, more easily impressed by the student's abilities. Whatever level the student is at is higher than the younger child.

Other information parents should consider:
Some teachers may participate (or be open to the suggestion) in a "reading buddies" program where the class visits a lower grade, pairs up with students and reads or does learning activities with them.
The "reading buddies" was a BIG turning point in my son's reading. He wanted to learn to read better, he tried harder, he enjoyed it more, and he took more pride in himself.
