Instructions for using this strategy:
Meet with the teacher to discuss your child's homework problems. Explain how much time your child spends on homework. Determine what gets in the way (e.g., TV, phone calls, hunger) of getting it all done. Find out what the teacher's expectations are on the following:

  • Average amount of time to be spent on homework; and
  • How much the parent should be involved.

Other information parents should consider:
Solicit your child's teacher for solutions. Agree on a plan to help your student resolve the homework problems.
