Description of test-preparation technique or resource:
It is vital that parents, teachers and students keep an appropriate attitude about standardized (and all other) testing. It is only a snapshot of a moment in time that everyone hopes is accurate and corresponds with everything else we know about the child. Don't give a false precision to standardized test scores. They have a standand error of measure - that is, they could be several points one side or the other of the score obtained at any other point in time.

Let testing be a tool - not a weapon - for discovering more about a child and what they know or don't know. Kids are puzzles and if a piece is missing, you'll never see the whole picture.

Look at test scores, grades, motivation, abilities, interests, attendance, health, etc. No one piece should ever 'stand alone.'

Avoid test anxiety and test stress by making sure your child knows they are to do their best. No one measure should ever make or break a child when it comes to his/her education!
