Description of discipline technique:
What is mutual conflict resolution? Just three words that mean the same as communication, communication, communication. Keep the lines of communication open. If there is a recurring problem, such as your child just will not stick to curfew or they just won't pick up their room no matter how many different ways you ask, sit down and have a family meeting about it. Tell your child your frustrations and your needs but also give your child the opportunity to voice their feelings and really listen. Work together to create a compromise situation that can work for everyone.

Appropriate age group(s):
Six and up.
