Estimated time to make this valentine: 30 minutes approx.
Appropriate age group(s): Preschool and Younger Elementary School
Materials:
File folder (colored)
Brown construction paper
Brown felt
White construction paper
Black construction paper
Sentence strip or white paper
Glue
Scissors
Black marker
Instructions:
Cut out a seven inch heart shape out of brown construction paper and one of felt.
Cut two four inch hearts out of brown construction paper.
Cut two two inch hearts out of white construction paper.
Cut six whisker shaped rectangles out of white construction paper.
Cut one two inch heart out of black construction paper.
Cut the large brown paper heart in half.
Glue the felt heart to the middle of one side of the file folder.
Glue the brown paper heart halves to the top of the felt heart, point side touching the felt. They should form bunny ears.
Glue the white hearts to the felt to form eyes, draw pupils with marker.
Glue the black heart to the center of the felt heart to create a nose then glue on whiskers.
Print the words "I love you..." at the top of the file folder. Print the words "This Much!!" on the sentence strip then accordian fold the strip beginning from each end and stopping in the middle.
Glue the center of the strip to the folder.
Glue the small brown hearts to each end of the strip to form paws, points outward. Use marker to create lines on paws.
Close the strip, close the folder. Give to someone you love "this much!".
Other comments or suggestions to consider:
I suggest using red file folders.
Brown construction paper can be used instead of felt.
