Homemade Valentines

Valentine Doorknob Hanger

Estimated time to make this valentine:
Approximately one hour

Appropriate age group(s):
Preschool and Younger
Elementary School

Materials:
Cardboard
Paper
Scissors
Paint, markers or crayons
Clear adhesive paper if desired (like Contact brand)
Rubber cement, glue or glue stick

Instructions:
1. Cut cardboard and paper out into a doorknob pattern, rectangular in shape approximately 8" long and 3" wide, with a circular cut out at one end for the doorknob measuring an approximate 2" radius.
2. Create a Valentines Day message or picture on the piece of paper. Decorate any way you like.
3. Glue picture to the piece of cardboard with the rubber cement.
4. If you want the doorknob hanger to be more durable, cover it with a piece of the clear adhesive paper before cutting (available in most grocery or hardware stores or wherever Contact paper is sold).
