Description of technique:
By attending church and Sunday school regularly, your child will be exposed to music as a community event and will be able to participate in singing and clapping from the earliest ages. There are three children from one family who are in my children's choir. The oldest child has difficulty singing on pitch, the middle child sings fairly well but lacks confidence, and the youngest sings confidently and tunefully. I asked their mother what she thought contributed the most to the differences in the 3 children's abilities to sing well. She stated that she felt that it was directly related to the history of their family's church attendance! The family did not attend church when the oldest was a toddler, attended sporadically when the middle child was under 5, and attended regularly since the youngest was born.

Other suggestions or comments:
Follow along with the music with your finger in the songbooks to help your child see that you are reading the music.
