Description of technique:
Make a string bass out of a 28-ounce aluminum coffee can.

Here's how:

1) You'll need a yard stick, a can and some fishing string.

2) Drill or punch a very small hole in the middle of the can and at one end of the yard stick.

3) Knot one end of the fishing string and pull the unknotted end through the hole in the can. Then, thread the string through the hole in the yard stick.

4) Put the other end of the yardstick on top of the can next to the edge. Stretch the other end so the string is taut.

5) Press the string against the yardstick at different intervals up and down the stick. You'll create different notes depending on where your fingers are placed!

You've just created your own string bass.
