Description of technique:
This project is art and music wrapped up into one. Gather up some of your old magazines. Have the kids look through the magazines and cut out all the instruments that they can find. Glue the pictures of the instruments onto cardboard for added strength and sprinkle with glitter for some sparkle. Using a hole punch, punch holes in the top of each piece of cardboard and string with a piece of yarn (making each one a different length), attach to a wire coat hanger. On the back of each piece of cardboard, write the name of each instrument. Hang it in their room and it will help keep music alive every day.

Appropriate age group(s):
Preschool on up.

Other suggestions or comments:
Play an instrumental CD and ask the kids to identify which instrument they hear.
