Description of technique:
This project is inexpensive, good for the environment and not too hard on the ears! Make your own percussion instruments like maracas or tamborines. Put beans, stones or bells, in different containers such as cardboard tubes from paper towels and toilet tissue, cover them with colored paper, decorate and seal tightly. Tell the family to form a conga line and shake, shake, shake! Make drums out of coffee cans or Tupperware containers, use wooden spoons for drum sticks.

Appropriate age group(s):
Preschool on up.
