Description of technique:
Exposure is key to the development of any interest or talent. You can't like something or know you have a talent for something if you don't even know it exists. Many of us didn't have much exposure to culture, music and the arts as kids but we can change that now that we are adults for ourselves and for our children.

Check your local papers for concerts and events in your own community. Most schools and churches produce annual concerts and plays that are quite inexpensive, especially during the holidays and in the spring. If you live near a big city, splurge once in a while and get tickets for orchestral events, plays or ice shows. Buy the soundtracks of movies your family has seen. Getting your child to relate to music on their own level keeps their interest and keeps them learning.

Appropriate age group(s):
From conception on up.
