Estimated time:
45 minutes or so

Number of servings:
about 3 dozen cookies

Ingredients: (Hit your return key to start a new line)
1 cup all-purpose flour

3 Tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder

1 tsp. baking powder

1/2 tsp. baking soda

1/2 tsp. salt

1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon

1/2 tsp. butter, softened

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup sugar

1 large egg

1 tsp. vanilla

1 1/4 cups rolled oats

1/2 cup to 1/2 bag (6 oz.) chocolate chips, as desired

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a cookie sheet.

In small bowl, combine first 6 ingredients.

In a large bowl (about 2 1/2 qt.) combine butter and sugars; beat with an electric mixer until thoroughly mixed. Add egg and vanilla; beat until that, too, is thoroughly mixed in. Stir in flour mixture; mix well with a wooden spoon. Add and stir in oats and chocolate chips.

Drop by Tablespoon-ful onto baking sheet, leaving 2 " between cookies. Bake for approx. 10 minutes, or until thoroughly "set" (with the cocoa added, "brown" is a little hard 2 judge...). Cool on a platter, or a wire rack if ya have one ;-)

Other suggestions and comments:
My cookies were sooo chocolatey that I felt maybe I overdid it (if such a thing is possible, with chocolate...).

1/2 cup seems so little. A 12 oz. bag seems too much. 1 cup, mommabear feels, would be just right, Goldilocks...
