Butterscotch Maple Cookies

Number of servings:
LOTS

Ingredients: (Hit your return key to start a new line)
1/2 cup soft butter
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 cups sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
*almond halves (for topping)
*maple syrup (for topping)

Directions:
Cream butter and sugars until light. Beat in egg. Sift in flour with salt, baking soda and cinnamon. Stir mixture until ball is formed. Divide dough into 3 parts. Shape on wax paper in a roll 2" in diameter. Chill until firm. Slice 1/4" on greased cookie sheet. Brush with maple syrup, place almond half on each. Bake at 400 degrees for 8-10 minutes.

Other suggestions and comments:
Easiest to work the dough when it's firm.
