Description of technique for limiting kids' TV-time:
It is a little (1''x 1/2''x 2'') key operated lock. You can unplug the TV (or anything else) from the wall and plug into this lock, turn the key, remove the key and take it with you. It can not be removed from the plug until you put the key back in and turn it. "If your home work is done when I come home from work, I'll unlock the TV". Available locally from electrical supply houses or safety companies. It is made by IDEAL Industries. Part 44-782, about $12. 1.800.435.0705 or ideal@wirenut.com

Appropriate age group(s):
5 to 55 (husbands?)

Other suggestions or comments:
It is better than taking hostages, "I told you to put the toy away, get your shoes on and get ready for school. Now give me the Pokemon (or whatever action figure/doll they are playing with)".
