Briefly describe this fundraising event:
Contact a local nursery that will sell you potted and hanging plants at a discount. Send order forms home with the students. A week before Mother's Day, all orders can be picked up at the school.

Organizing the event:
You need to pick a chairman and at least 2 helpers. Flower orders need to be tallied. On the day of flower pick-up, either the nursery will deliver the order, or someone with a truck will need to pick up the plants. You need people to sort the orders, then have people available to hand out the orders and collect the money.

Capital possibilities:
Great possibility if you can charge a decent amount. Plus, many people find it easier to pick up the plants on their way home, than actually going to a nursery.
