Briefly describe this fundraising event:
A School Swap is like a big School Garage Sale except you don't sell items, you swap items! For example if you bring 10 items of clothing you leave with 10 items of clothing. Schools charge admission fee and sell concessions and spirit wear.
Organizing the event:
Work within your school's guidelines for planning and promoting events. It's best to limit your swap to 1 to 3 categories like clothing, books and DVDs/CDs or Toys. This way swaps are of equal value. Capital possibilities:
A good amount to charge would be $10 per person plus your earnings for concessions. Don't limit your swap to just school families - open it up to other schools and the local community. If you get 300 people, that would be $3000-$5000 depending on what you sell. Advertise your swap on www.myschoolswap.com
Degree of difficulty:
You will need to promote it, volunteers to accept and organize swap items before the doors open, take admission and check out folks with credits. You also need a crew to bring remaining items to local drop center.
