Briefly describe this fundraising event:
StoryRock and YBI (Year Book Interactive) have created a Music Video DVD (NOT a slide show or CD-Rom) that incorporates YOUR photos and music for an amazing result!

Organizing the event:
THEY do most of the work! All you have to do is collect images from your school classes and events, choose the music background you want from their website, and mail in your selections. PERIOD!

Capital possibilities:
Depends on how many "chapters" you want.
A middle school might only want three chapters, one per grade, where a K-6 would need 7 chapters. More chapters cost more. Minimum order is 100, but they have a 50 order program for preschools etc.
For a three chapter DVD the price is $6.50 with an earlybird prepay discount of $1.00 off, making them $5.50 each. 7 chapters cost $9.00 per DVD but you can also get the pre-pay discount to make them $8.00 each.
Most Elementary and Middle schools charge between $12.00-$15.00 for their old black and white photocopied yearbook...so you're looking at a profit margin of anywhere from $3.00-$6.50 PER DVD!!! That's a whole lot more than most schools make or often just break even.

Degree of difficulty:
The only difficulty is finding someone who will gather photos, digital files, VHS etc (because there is live action on them too) and make sure all the kids get represented. StoryRock professionally edits them, improves them, and mails them back in about three weeks. If you've ever slaved over a school yearbook before, these guys are a GODSEND and the kids LOVE being in a real "movie".

Other suggestions or comments:
Honestly, you have to see them to believe the quality. They will send you a free demo if you just ask. And if your school is concerned with safety issues, no names are listed with the children on it. It's a better product at a lower price...you can't beat that. Email LeAnn at lgottlieb@ybi to ask for their free, no obligation demo DVD.
