4 Star Suggestion Rating

Briefly describe this fundraising event:
A company out of Southern California has come up with a special, reloadable Visa card product that isn't a credit card (which means all our supporters don't have to qualify or pay interest fees). Every time our supporters load the card, we get 3%. Every 30 days we get a check and a detailed report. It requires no office staff or volunteers.

Organizing the event:
All we did was respond to a marketing letter from the company. Two days later the program was up and running. They do EVERYTHING. They will even provide free marketing materials and other fundraising consultation. The company was started by former Foundation Directors and nonprofit fundraisers.

Capital possibilities:
Limitless--unlike scrip, e.g., our supporters can shop ANYWHERE Visa cards are accepted--28 million stores at last count. Supporters can load the Card toll free (and the number is in English and Spanish) or on the web. Best part is that we have our supporters register the Advantage Card online with online fundraisers like eScrip and use it with grocery store programs to "double-dip" and maximize profits.

Degree of difficulty:
On a scale of 0 to 10 with 10 being impossible, it's a 0. This is a no-brainer.

Other suggestions or comments:
Supporters like it because it let's them shop how, when, and where they want. Also, they handle all customer service. I recommend that you customize the plastic card with your organization logo or photo to build more awareness. The company is VERY knowledgeable and easy to work with. Info can be found at www.myadvantagecard.com or they can be contacted at cards@autusgroup.com. Good luck!
