4 Star Suggestion Rating

Briefly describe this fundraising event:
Clip boxtop symbols from General Mills products, send them in to the company. The company sends 10 cents per symbol.

Organizing the event:
Year round collection box in the school. Someone to trim and count to send in at different times.

Capital possibilities:
Depends on how much you advertise the collection process. We put a few notes in the school newsletter and we received about 700 boxtops ($70) The company also gave us bonus points for updating info on the website and a few other things contained in their literature. We received a $4.00 check before we had even sent in our boxtops.

Degree of difficulty:
Very easy. It only took an hour or two to trim, count and box up our tops. I realize $70 isn't much, but our school only has 360 students and we really didn't put alot of effort into advertising. Next year we're going to try harder.

Other suggestions or comments:
Try it to put a little extra cash into your budget every year! It can't hurt!
