Briefly describe this fundraising event:
Small inexpensive items for children to purchase to put under the tree for family members.

Organizing the event:
There are organizations who will send items to sell, they are good. You could also buy these items yourselves. The children go into a room with an unrelated adult to purchase items for Christmas Presents. This works on so many levels. The kids get to please parents, they get to use their math skills budgeting their money. The parents are pleasantly suprised to see what their children will chose for them. We use the school cafeteria on a Saturday and have pictures with Santa.

Capital possibilities:
Not a lot of cash, but the learning and fun potential is worth the time and trouble.

Degree of difficulty:
Not too difficult. It does take several volunteers.
